Job Summary Location: Detroit, MI The Safety Specialist supports DTE Vantage in implementation and oversight of safety programs and policies at sites located throughout the United States. The position reports to the Manager, Safety Team. This is a corporate staff position based in Detroit, Michigan with the ability to work remotely. Key Accountabilities Develops, implements, and continuously improves safety programs Works collaboratively with leadership and employees to strengthen the company's safety culture Leads strategic safety initiatives Conducts site assessments and recommends solutions to address gaps Works with leaders to ensure compliance with regulations and alignment with company expectations Creates and delivers safety-related reports and presentations Develops and presents training and educational programs Travels to project sites (approx. 25%) Performs all other related duties as assigned Minimum Education & Experience Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety or a closely related field Four years of practical experience in industrial safety, safety management systems, training, field/site safety auditing, project management, and hazard identification and control Other Qualifications Preferred: Extensive knowledge of occupational safety regulations Knowledge of electrical standards Knowledge of, and experience with, safety management systems Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Other Requirements: Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to positively influence and motivate Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with all colleagues Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a matrix organization where business leaders have equal organizational authority Physical Demands & Working Conditions The following physical demands must be met by an employee to properly perform the integral functions of this job.
