PartTime Cello Teacher Melody Academy of Music

About the Position Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional cello instructor to teach part‑time at Melody Academy of Music. The position is located in Fremont, Cupertino, and Palo Alto, and requires in‑person instruction. Ability to teach other instruments, especially violin or piano, is preferred. Successful candidates will have a strong music background evidenced by a degree in music performance, pedagogy, or equivalent performing experience, a demonstrated love of teaching, experience working with young musicians, a robust appreciation for punctuality, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a routine background check. Substitute teachers may fill in for regular teachers in lessons as needed; preference will be given to candidates with weekday afternoon/evening availability and the ability to commute to multiple locations. Responsibilities Teach cello private lessons to students of all ages and levels. Provide substitute instruction when regular teachers are unavailable. Maintain punctuality, professional conduct, and a safe learning environment. Pass a routine background check and comply with school policies. Qualifications Degree in music performance, pedagogy, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated love of teaching and experience with young musicians. Strong music background and reliable transportation. Availability for weekday afternoon or evening lessons. Compensation & Benefits Pay: $40–$50 per hour for private lessons. 401(K) program with employer matching available after 30 days on the job.
