General Superintendent

We are seeking an experienced General Superintendent to lead and oversee field operations across multiple site development projects. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, and team performance across our organization. Position Summary The General Superintendent oversees all field operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role leads Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews while promoting operational efficiency, workforce development, and company core values. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in site development or heavy civil construction 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Senior Superintendent or equivalent) Strong knowledge of grading, utilities, earthwork, storm drainage, and site infrastructure Proven ability to manage multiple projects and large field teams simultaneously Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules Proficient in construction management software and reporting tools OSHA 30 (or ability to obtain) preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between job sites Key Responsibilities Field Operations Oversight Manage multiple active job sites including grading, utilities, excavation, paving, and stormwater systems Ensure work aligns with plans, specifications, and schedules Partner with Project Managers to align field production with budgets and timelines Identify and resolve field challenges proactively Leadership & Team Development Supervise, mentor, and develop Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel Establish clear expectations for productivity, accountability, and professionalism Promote a strong safety culture and positive work environment Assist in workforce planning, hiring, and performance management Safety & Compliance Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations Conduct jobsite audits, safety meetings, and inspections Drive incident prevention and ensure proper documentation Scheduling & Productivity Oversee project schedules and sequencing across multiple crews and projects Monitor production rates and adjust manpower and equipment as needed Coordinate with equipment teams to ensure proper utilization Quality Control Ensure all work meets or exceeds project specifications and standards Conduct routine inspections and address deficiencies promptly Client & Stakeholder Coordination Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, inspectors, and subcontractors Attend project meetings and represent the company professionally Ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and execution Position Requirements and Skills Ambitious, self-motivated, and results-driven with an ownership mindset Professional in attitude and appearance Ability to connect and communicate effectively with a wide range of personalities Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace Ability to work independently while leading teams effectively Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on environment Dependable, safety-oriented, and team-focused Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed Strong customer service mindset and relationship management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive tasks to completion Positive, resourceful, and “can-do” attitude Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check #J-18808-Ljbffr
