MECHANIC / FIELD TECHNICIAN

Position Summary

Branco Enterprises is seeking a skilled Mechanic / Field Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain on-road and off-road construction equipment, fleet vehicles, and machinery. This role supports field operations by ensuring equipment is operating safely and efficiently. The Mechanic / Field Technician works in both shop and field environments and travels to active job sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain all types of on-road and off-road heavy construction equipment
• Perform routine maintenance on semi tractor-trailers, end dump trailers and gasoline fleet sedans and pickups
• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components
• Troubleshoot and repair light engines and small equipment
• Perform welding and basic fabrication repairs as needed
• Travel to job sites to perform field repairs and emergency service as required
• Operate and transport company vehicles and equipment to job sites in compliance with DOT regulations
• Document repairs, complete service records, and communicate effectively with management and field personnel
• Order and track parts and supplies necessary for repairs
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in shop and field settings
• Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years mechanical experience (diesel mechanic and/or heavy equipment technician preferred)
• Strong ability to diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, engine, and hydraulic systems
• CDL-A with clean MVR required
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical schematics
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple repair tasks
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with construction or heavy civil equipment
• Diesel certifications or manufacturer training
• Welding, fabrication, wiring, or crane experience
• Familiarity with CAT, John Deere, Cummins, Grove, or Terex equipment

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

This position involves both shop-based and field-based work. Travel to project sites throughout the four-state area (Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas) and beyond may be required. Work may be performed in outdoor environments and active construction settings.  Work may involve exposure to varying weather conditions, loud noises, and heavy equipment. The role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform manual tasks. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier loads with assistance.
