Variant Assessment Scientist II- Oncology (REMOTE, USA)

Compensation: $112,000-$120,000 Variant Assessment Scientist II (Oncology) – Remote (USA) Job Overview Apply variant analysis to diagnostic molecular genetic tests, evaluate published literature, clinical data and both functional and in silico data to deliver accurate, thorough, and thoughtful clinical interpretations. Produce research articles in collaboration with medical professionals and colleagues as appropriate. Responsibilities Write and interpret molecular test results, including literature reviews and summaries. Participate in updating variant classification guidelines and developing gene‑specific classification guidelines. Research novel methods to assess sequence variants. Manage variant pre‑classification workflow to achieve standard reporting turnaround times. Train new variant team members or clinical staff. Education & Knowledge PhD and/or MD with expertise in molecular genetics, human genetics, molecular pathology, or a related field. MS in molecular biology, genetics, or related field with exceptional expertise and outstanding performance may also be considered. Technical Competencies In‑depth knowledge of current theories and principles of human genetics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex information clearly, kindly, and respectfully. Ability and willingness to work in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment. Experience Prior experience in variant assessment and reporting preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience with variant assessment.
