Social Worker

This position is responsible for providing comprehensive support to students, families, and school staff by addressing students’ social, emotional, and environmental needs, helping to address factors that interfere with student learning. The school social worker serves as a vital link between home, school, and community to promote student well‑being, ensure access to appropriate supports, and help students engage successfully in their education and thrive within the Altoona Area School District. The School Social Worker conducts assessments, develops interventions, provides counseling and case management, and collaborates with staff, families, and community agencies to remove barriers to learning and foster a positive school climate. QUALIFICATIONS Master’s Degree in Social Work required Current Pennsylvania LSW or LCSW required Pennsylvania School Social Worker PK-12 Educational Specialist Certificate required Minimum of (3) years of experience working with children preferred; experience as a Social Worker working with children given preference. #J-18808-Ljbffr
