Quality Engineer - Electronics

This opportunity is located within our Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company business, a global leader of mission-critical hardware and systems solutions including precision energetics systems and innovative explosive solutions.Job DescriptionEBAD is seeking a Quality Engineer with experience working in a manufacturing environment.Responsibilities:This position provides organizational support for customer programs and supplier quality requirements. The candidate will be responsible to:Facilitate system and process improvements, supplier development and RCCA activity including non-conformance analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures.Lead quality functions for assigned programs from proposal through shipment to customer while complying with customer requirements and achieving EBAD cost and delivery expectationsActively participate in IPTs, FMEAs, new product development, and product failure investigationsHost customer quality audits and participates in internal quality audits.Interface with suppliers and customers concerning program quality requirementsDevelop, modify, coordinate and document the implementation, evaluation and maintenance of quality assurance programs and systemsMaintain product First Article status in accordance with customer and AS9102 requirementsDevelop Inspection Plans for suppliers and internal manufacturingIssue and facilitate internal and supplier Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA)Provide advice and guidance in interpreting and adapting quality standards and government regulationsAnalyze design reliability and quality to recommend process and design changes and enhancementsWork closely with Engineering in bringing quality products to production readinessFacilitate customer and/or government source inspectionVerify customer requirements from RFP through creation of End Item Data PackagesRequirements:The successful candidate will have:Experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement and strong problem-solving skillsKnowledge and understanding of current ISO 9001/AS 9100 quality systems.Working knowledge with interpretation of engineering specifications, mechanical drawing and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T)Knowledge of process capability concepts including Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniquesFundamental knowledge of root cause/corrective and preventative action and the ability to walk project teams and customers through the analysisIn-depth understanding ERP/MRP planning systemsStrong skills in MS Windows – Excel, Word and Power-point. Familiar with and able to work in MS ProjectPreferred skills:The successful candidate will preferably have:BS/MS in science or engineering discipline with emphasis in electro/mechanical engineering and experience in quality engineering.IPC & J-STD Specification knowledgeElectronics manufacturing experience (PCBAs, cables, electronic assemblies, etc.)Electronics testing experience (Oscilloscopes, Meters, Power Supplies, etc.)Six Sigma Black or Green BeltASQ CQE/CQM CertificationExperience working in military or aerospace quality systemsSignificant experience working directly with customers and suppliersEnsign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE).
