Our team members and leaders are expected to foster connection and teamwork by being present in the office at least 2 days per weekThe Opportunity:This position in the National Accounts Employee Benefits Underwriting organization is responsible for all aspects of risk selection, pricing and proposal for our Group Disability and Life new business and renewals for 2,000+ lives. Apply standard underwriting principles and procedures to evaluate, rate and negotiate price on new business. Apply in depth knowledge of assigned product lines and independent decision making within underwriting policies and procedures.How will you contribute:Evaluate, price, propose rate and strategy to acquire and renew National Account clientsIn-depth risk assessment and pricing of prospective and inforce customers in conformance with underwriting guidelines and authority limitsProvide Customer reporting and analyticsPartner with sales, national accounts practice leader and home office subject matter experts to develop comprehensive pricing and solutions for our customersRecommend changes in policies and procedures to be more responsive to the emerging client and market needsProactively manage inforce block of business to maintain profit and persistency expectationsMentoring and underwriter developmentWhat you will bring with you:Require a minimum of 7+ years of group underwriting experienceHighly skilled in both written and verbal communications, organization, time/work management, establishing interpersonal relationships, and problem solvingAbility to work in a fast paced environment and flex to changing demands including system and process changesMotivated, positive, team playerProficient PC skills, including Excel skills, and word processing applicationsThe position requires strong analytical and negotiation skills, as well as an in-depth understanding of industry contractual language and provisionsCandidates should possess a high level, technical understanding of underwriting principles and theorySalary Range: $85,200 - $127, 800At our company, we are committed to pay transparency and equity.
