About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Community Affairs to join its Executive Team. This executive-level position is pivotal in providing strategic leadership and oversight for community engagement and public/government affairs, with a specific focus on advancing issues that impact the disability community. The successful candidate will be responsible for a high degree of public-facing engagement, including oversight of legislative and policy work, representation at various events, and stakeholder engagement with funders, families, and community partners. The role also involves ongoing community relationship building and advocacy, as well as directing the community engagement department and initiatives. The Vice President will collaborate closely with the communications team on public-affairs-related projects, campaigns, and fundraising strategies to enhance the impact of programs. Applicants for the Vice President of Community Affairs position at the company should have a Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field, with a Master’s degree preferred, and at least 8-10 years of experience in community engagement, public affairs, or a related human services field. The role requires a deep knowledge of Federal and State Medicaid Waiver statutes, regulations, and requirements, as well as a proven track record in strategic planning, project leadership, and program development. The ideal candidate will be a strategic visionary with strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and the capacity to make executive-level decisions. Key responsibilities include serving as the primary spokesperson for community engagement and government affairs, leading the development of high-impact programs and public policy strategies, and ensuring organizational readiness for growth and expansion. The Vice President will also be responsible for managing department operations, budgeting, and building strategic relationships with various stakeholders.
