This position reports to the Principal. This is a part-time position typically 2-3 hours per day. Key Responsibilities Establish acceptable standards of behavior in the cafeteria; supervise students entering and leaving the cafeteria and assist students with the seating process; supervise social behavior of students. Enforce cafeteria procedures and rules. Maintain an orderly, clean, and appetizing environment for students to eat lunch (i.e., wiping off tables). Report inappropriate student behavior to the appropriate personnel. Perform all other duties, as assigned and required, to perform the above services. Key Job Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Prior experience working in a school cafeteria preferred. Light independent judgment necessary. Decisions made as needed to establish order in the cafeteria. Requires regular contact with internal and external school personnel of decision-making responsibility to discuss issues of moderate importance. Must be able to work with students in a congenial and nurturing manner. Great communication, interpersonal skills required. School setting; primarily cafeteria. Light duty – on most occasions standing in the cafeteria; intermittently sitting, standing, or stooping. Light lifting or carrying 20 lbs. or less. Note: This is a 180 day position that pays for experience up to a Step 4.
