SUMMARY OF POSITION
This role is to be a board-certified (American Board of Pediatrics) pediatrician, practicing with a Kansas medical license, who will provide optimal pediatric care in a primary care medical home practice.ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS
- Performing professional medical activities as a physician providing acute, chronic and preventative medical care.
- Making competent health care diagnosis and treatment decisions.
- Supervising health care performed by Nurse Practitioners, Physician's Assistants, Clinical Pharmacists, and Volunteer Providers, to include being available by telephone to provide back-up and information during normal office hours, when scheduled to work.
- Collaborating with members of the multidisciplinary team, including peers and healthcare workers, as needed to meet comprehensive patient needs.
- Assisting Medical Director in establishing academic medical education affiliations and providing clinical teaching supervision and oversight.
- Participating in Peer Reviews.
- Assisting in design, implementation and evaluation of clinical services.
- Reviewing received laboratory, radiology and consultation reports on all patients in a timely manner.
- Providing input to the Quality Improvement program, developing and implementing of quality guidelines.
- Assisting with recruitment and training of clinical staff and providers.
- Working with the management team to improve clinic productivity and to enhance the cost-effectiveness of health services.
- Assisting other staff in complying with any special conditions of grant awards, rules, regulations or laws.
- Attending clinical and organizational meetings.
- Communicating patient's health status accurately in verbal and written reports to appropriate healthcare providers (i.e. Charge Nurse, providers).
- Communicating effectively, courteously and collaboratively with patients, providers, supervisors, and co-workers.
- Communicating effectively with diverse individuals, including those best served in a language other than English.
- Maintaining a positive, helpful attitude to patients, providers and co-workers.

- Accepting and using supervision, direction and consultation to maximize available resources in the completion of work duties.
- Additional responsibilities will be assigned as needed to maintain and improve effective functioning of the department and to advance the mission of the organization.
- All job responsibilities will be carried out under the direction of the organization's policies and procedures.
- Physician (MD/DO) with active Kansas licensure, OR other advanced clinical degree with active clinical licensure in Kansas.
- Graduate of an approved medical school.
- Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatrics.
- Current, unrestricted professional license in Kansas consistent with educational background.
- Basic Life Support (CLS) Certification required.
- Active Kansas DEA.
- Ability to relate to a broad and diverse spectrum of the community.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with patients, volunteers and team members.
- Ability to work independently and in a professional manner.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks.

- Hold current driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel to all clinic locations within the health center system.
- Experience working in Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) settings.
- Experience with Electronic Health Record systems/ (eClinicalWorks experience highly preferred).
- Bilingual or bicultural capabilities.

- HIPAA Classification: Unrestricted Access: A workforce member with unrestricted access will have full access to patient's protected health information, including the patient's entire medical record, for patient care purposes.
- Employment is contingent upon successful clearance from Criminal, Kansas and Missouri Child/Elder Abuse and Neglect, Sex Offender background investigations, TB testing, pre-employment drug testing, and verification of Hepatitis-B, flu and COVID-19 immunizations.
- Occasional evening and weekend availability are required.
