Position Description

Employees in this job function are responsible for translating desired business capabilities into technical solutions.

• Responsible for application design, installation, configuration, and development support activities for:
  • B2Bi applications
  • Web applications
  • Mainframe applications
• Demonstrate a strong level of expertise in one or more technical environments, including:
  • Software packages
  • Programming languages
  • Databases
  • Operating systems
• Maintain a solid knowledge of EDI solutions
• Own the quality of solutions across each environment and for each trading partner
• Coordinate with related workstreams and teams, including:
  • Infrastructure teams
  • Ford Customer Service Division
  • Manufacturing teams
• Perform systems tuning and diagnostics across:
  • UNIX
  • Linux
  • Windows platforms

Core Experience

• 5+ years of experience across a wide range of supply chain management business areas , including:
  • System development
  • Business intelligence
  • Business processes
  • Customer relations
• 5+ years of experience with:
  • Enterprise Application Integration
  • Middleware
  • Other integration technologies
• 5+ years of experience with:
  • Architecture diagrams
  • Sequence diagrams
  • UML diagrams
  • Network connectivity
  • Communication protocols
• Proficiency with:
  • EDI mapping tools
  • ANSI X12
  • EDIFACT
  • UNIX
  • Linux
  • Windows
  • SQL Server
  • MQ Series

Skills Required

Experience Required

• Senior Associate level with:
  • 6-10 years of overall IT experience
• 4+ years of focused experience in:
  • Solution Architecture
  • Unix
  • Network Protocols & Standards
  • Session Initiation Protocols
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • EDI mapping tools

Experience Preferred

• Familiarity with:
  • Web applications
  • Mainframe applications
  • Mainframe Systems

Education Required

• Bachelor's Degree

• Hybrid role with 4 days per week onsite required
• The hiring manager is specifically seeking an EDI Architect
• Candidates submitted as EDI Mappers often do not meet requirements
  • The role is not limited to data conversion work
• The requirement is for a professional who can handle the full scope of EDI architecture

• These systems enable businesses to electronically exchange critical documents, including:

Candidates must demonstrate full architectural and integration expertise , not just EDI mapping or conversion experience.
