Test EngineerNorthville, Michigan Target Rate: $35.00-$45.00 per hour Duration: 1-year contract role available Schedule : Monday-Friday 8:00am-6:00pm, mostly 9:00am-5:00pm (occasional weekend work required based on project needs)About the Test Engineer RoleOur customer is seeking a hands-on Test Engineer to support validation, verification, and troubleshooting activities for automotive electronic systems and components. This role will be responsible for developing test plans, executing hardware and software validation, analyzing test results, and supporting issue resolution throughout the product development lifecycle.Testing & Validation ResponsibilitiesTest Planning: Develop, maintain, and execute validation plans, test procedures, and test cases based on customer requirements and engineering specificationsHardware Validation: Perform functional, electrical, environmental, and durability testing of automotive electronic modules and systemsSystem Verification: Validate system behavior and performance against design requirements and customer expectationsTest Reporting: Document test execution results, create validation reports, and communicate findingsEngineering & Issue ResolutionTroubleshooting: Investigate failures, perform root cause analysis, and support corrective action implementationIssue Tracking: Manage and document defects using internal issue tracking systemsNetwork Analysis: Analyze and validate CAN and LIN communication using industry-standard toolsContinuous Improvement: Improve test processes and automation efficiencyRequired Qualifications & Technical SkillsBachelor degree in Engineering or related fieldExperience with automotive electronics testing and validationHands-on CAN and LIN experienceProficiency with CANoe, CANalyzer, and vFlashExperience using oscilloscopes, micrometers, and power suppliesProfessional AttributesAnalytical Problem Solver with strong troubleshooting skillsTechnical Collaboration across engineering disciplinesAdaptability in fast-paced automotive environmentsStrong communication and reporting skillsA successful candidate will be subject to a background check and must receive satisfactory results of the same, as a condition of joining the team.
