Job Overview Phlebotomist II - Emporia, VA, Monday to Friday 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM with rotational weekends. Pay range: $17.20+ per hour. Responsibilities Collect specimens according to established procedures, including drug screens, biometric screening, and insurance exams. Administer oral solutions as per training. Research test/client information and confirm all orders by using lab technology systems, client contact, and approved tools. Navigate a computer and accurately enter data to support the role. Obtain identification and accurately enter billing information, collecting payments when required per corporate policies. Process specimens: labeling, centrifugation, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport as required by test orders. Perform all non‑patient‑facing duties, including inventory, stocking supplies, sanitization, filing, answering phones, and email communication. Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures. Assist with compiling and submitting statistics and data when required. Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner (maintenance logs, temperature logs, etc.). Complete online and in‑person training courses promptly. Required Qualifications Three years of phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections. Keyboard/data entry experience. Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on‑call, and overtime. Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and a clean driving record, if applicable. High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred. Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington. Effective communication skills in English.
