Position Summary Aetna Resources, LLC., a CVS Health company, is hiring for the following role in Hartford, CT: Cloud Engineer to build, develop, and maintain cloud‑native software web applications and systems in support of CVS business needs and end customers. Duties include: assistant with cloud‑native application development, web development, API integration and scaling them in real time to meet internal users and end‑customer needs; participation in the entire software lifecycle – development, testing, CI/CD and production operations; development of large‑scale data structures and pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data to generate insights and address reporting needs; writing ETL processes; designing database systems; developing tools for real‑time and offline analytic processing; collaboration with the Data Science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into automated processes; leveraging knowledge of Hadoop architecture, HDFS commands, and designing and optimizing queries to build data pipelines; utilizing programming skills in Python, Java, or similar languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems; building data marts and data models to support Data Science and other internal customers; integrating data from a variety of sources and ensuring adherence to data quality and accessibility standards; analyzing current information technology environments to identify critical capabilities and recommend solutions; and experimenting with available tools and advising on new tools to provide optimal solutions that meet the requirements dictated by the model/use case. Requirements Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field and two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Requires two years of experience in each of the following: Data analytics on large data sets in healthcare, business, or retail sector Java, Python, or SQL JIRA, Rally, or Confluence Hadoop, HDFS, and Hive Relational database concepts Big Data implementation Also requires one year of experience in each of the following: Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Spark, PySpark, Airflow, Kafka, or MySQL Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) processes Designing data architectures, including data pipelines, distributed computing engines, and machine learning infrastructure design Pay Range Base salary range: $106,475.00/year to $203,940.00/year. The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education and geography. The position is eligible for a bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program and an equity award program.
