We are hiring for the following: Position: Licensed Practical Nurse Location: Union County Detention Center Shift: Day-8 hour shift Responsibilities Work closely with the center's physician in providing proper medical care for patients Schedule dental and medical appointments per Physician's orders Provide emergency medical assistance Conduct medical history interviews and prepare medical history and physical reports Assist the center's Physician in conducting sick call Administer medicine dosage and treatment per Physician's orders Maintain control of all medications and drugs on hand in accordance with policies and procedures Ensure that policies and procedures regarding the Medical Department are followed Complete reports and medical forms Ensure medical office is clean and properly stocked, and all medications and supplies are promptly ordered Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Completion of an Accredited Nursing Program leading to licensure with the ability to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse High school graduate or equivalent, and must be eighteen (18) years of age or older Active, unencumbered state/commonwealth Licensed Practical Nurse license Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience, preferably in a correctional center Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved) Combination of education and experience equivalent to these qualifications may be substituted Benefits Benefits package including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance for you and your family Employer-paid Life insurance policy/AD&D, long-term disability and short-term disability Tuition Reimbursement Assistance Plan CEUs paid for by MEDIKO Generous paid time off including 10 Holidays Participation in the MEDIKO retirement plan Employee Assistance Program Please visit our website at to learn more about opportunities with us!
