Designer (Space Planner Specifier)

Position Overview We are seeking a high-performing Space Planner Specifier / Commercial Interior Designer to join our growing Chicago team. This is not a traditional studio design role, this is a fast-paced, client-facing, revenue-impacting position within a leading commercial furniture dealership environment. Our designers are strategic partners to sales. They translate client needs into compelling, buildable, and budget-aligned workplace solutions. Key Responsibilities Client & Programming Leadership: Partner with Workplace Solutions Managers (Sales) to lead programming conversations, gather project requirements and translate client goals into functional, future-ready workplace strategies Space Planning & Design Execution: Develop responsive space plans that align with program Specification & Documentation: Generate accurate specifications and pricing and develop installation documentation to ensure alignment between design intent, Project Managers and vendors to support smooth installation Strategic Contribution: Contribute design insight to deal strategy and competitive positioning and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality Qualifications Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field 3+ years of commercial interiors experience preferred Experience within a furniture dealership or similar environment strongly preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) Familiarity with CET designer, Project Spec, CAP 2020 Worksheet strongly preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr Dream Nights Slumber Parties
