Field Service Mechanic B Pay Range: $33.80 - $37.00 per hour Req #: 68735 Job Purpose As a Field Service Mechanic B, you are an expert technician who will provide support in product knowledge and quality standards within the branch. You will serve as a valued resource with your mechanical expertise to ensure the Herc fleet remains in proper operating condition on our customer jobsites at all times. Field Service Mechanics are dispatched to local jobsites at various times of the day and work independently without direct supervision, building positive relationships with customers while supporting community growth. Responsibilities Maintain a consistent schedule performing preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at long-term customer job sites Oversee and conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and assorted services Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operating condition at the job site Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems Recondition and replace parts to return equipment to a safely functioning state Educate customers on proper use of equipment to avoid future breakdowns Analyze problem areas for wear or tear and address them before the next visit Adhere to all safety guidelines at active job sites Maintain a clean and organized work area at the job site Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs Follow all company procedures and protocols Build positive relationships with customers Perform additional duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Ability to understand detailed technical schematics, owner manuals, and product warning labels Ownership of sufficient selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete most repairs and services Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipment Ability to be on call to support operational needs A valid driver's license Skills Ability to drive/operate multiple types of vehicles and equipment Ability to follow up with customers in a timely manner Ability to handle assorted tools properly and safely Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs Attention to detail Customer service skills to naturally converse with jobsite foreman Flexibility to adapt to changing needs on an active jobsite Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and efficiently Solid written and verbal communication skills and basic computer operations Understanding the importance of time management Works and communicates effectively with all levels of the company Herc does not discriminate in employment based on race, creed, color, religion, sex, age, disability, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, citizenship status, political affiliation, parental status, military service, or other non-merit factors. #J-18808-Ljbffr
