Clinical Site Lead
Brick House Recovery
Job Description
Job Description
Salary:
Position
Summary The Clinical Site Lead provides daily operational leadership at one Brick House Recovery location (Boise, Idaho Falls, or Coeur d'Alene). The role is the on-the-ground anchor for the clinical team at the site, handling day-to-day operational decisions, scheduling, staff coordination, peer support, and immediate problem-solving. The Site Lead reports to the Clinical Director and continues to carry a clinical caseload as part of the role. This is a working leadership position, not a full-time administrative seat.
The Site Lead role is part of the clinical leadership development pathway at Brick House. It is designed to develop high-performing clinicians into clinical leaders by giving them real operational authority at the site level under the mentorship of the Clinical Director.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Active Idaho credential as CADC, ACADC, LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMFT, or equivalent qualifying clinical or counselor license / certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in substance use disorder treatment, mental health care, or related setting.
- Working knowledge of SUD treatment philosophy, ASAM criteria (3rd and 4th editions), and evidence-based treatment models.
- Demonstrated leadership instincts, peer credibility, and operational reliability.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in EHR systems (BestNotes), Google Workspace, and standard productivity tools.
- Aligned with Brick House mission, values, and clinical philosophy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a senior counselor, lead clinician, or informal team leader.
- Experience with treatment planning, group facilitation, and documentation review.
- Familiarity with Brick House Press curriculum (Chain Breaker, Change Maker, Hope Dealer, Daily Battle Plan).
- Interest in long-term growth into clinical leadership roles.
Reporting Structure
Reports To: Clinical Director.
Direct Reports: Provides operational leadership and day-to-day oversight to all clinicians at the assigned site. Formal personnel authority (hiring, termination, formal performance reviews) sits with the Clinical Director and the Chief Clinical Officer.
Clinical Supervision: The Site Lead receives clinical supervision from the Clinical Director on the same weekly cadence as other clinicians. Master's-level clinicians at the site also receive clinical supervision from the Clinical Director (not from the Site Lead) for licensure purposes when the Site Lead does not hold the supervisory credential.
Time Commitment and Workload Mix
The Site Lead is a working leadership role. The clinician continues to carry a clinical caseload while taking on additional operational responsibilities.
- Approximately 80 percent clinical work (individual sessions, groups, documentation, treatment planning at the site's standard expectation for the credential).
- Approximately 20 percent Site Lead operational work (scheduling, team coordination, peer issues, decisions, weekly meeting with the Clinical Director).
- Daily availability at the site for operational decision-making during business hours.
- Weekly 1-on-1 with the Clinical Director.
- Participation in the broader Leadership Meeting (Tuesday weekly slot).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Daily Operational Leadership
- Serves as the on-the-ground anchor for the clinical team at the assigned site.
- Handles day-to-day operational decisions, scheduling adjustments, and coverage planning.
- Coordinates with the Admissions team on new client placements and intake flow at the site.
- Addresses peer issues, scheduling conflicts, and immediate operational concerns as they arise.
- Provides timely communication with the Clinical Director on anything that affects clinical delivery, staffing, or client experience at the site.
- Onboards new clinical staff at the site level (orientation to the building, the team, the rhythms, the local culture).
Clinical Practice
- Maintains a regular clinical caseload appropriate for the credential level. Provides individual, group, and family therapy.
- Implements Brick House Press clinical curriculum consistently at the site.
- Maintains documentation standards: progress notes within 24 hours, treatment plans signed within 7 days, discharge summaries within 7 days.
- Participates in interdisciplinary treatment planning, including communication with outside providers, referral sources, probation officers, hospitals, and community agencies.
Team Coordination
- Communicates direction from the Clinical Director and the Chief Clinical Officer to the team in a way that lands.
- Surfaces team concerns, friction points, and ideas to the Clinical Director so they can be addressed.
- Supports new hires through onboarding and integration with the site's clinical culture.
- Models the clinical voice, ethics, and communication standards Brick House expects of clinical staff.
Quality and Compliance Support
- Supports clinical documentation timeliness by tracking team performance and flagging gaps to the Clinical Director.
- Participates in incident response, debriefing, and documentation for site-level events.
- Supports the Clinical Director on quality assurance activities at the site.
- Helps ensure adherence to Idaho Department of Health and Welfare licensing standards, CARF accreditation requirements, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and ASAM criteria.
Leadership Development
- Engages actively in mentorship from the Clinical Director.
- Participates in leadership development opportunities provided by Brick House (Traction, leadership reading, EOS-style execution, internal training).
- Builds leadership skills as part of the long-term pathway to clinical director-level roles.
Decision-Making Authority
Autonomous decisions
- Day-to-day scheduling at the site
- Coverage planning when a clinician calls out
- Peer-level coordination and operational adjustments
- Client logistics and local operational matters
- Communication with the team about site-level rhythms and direction
Coordinate with Clinical Director
- Clinical questions or treatment decisions involving complex client situations
- Performance concerns about a clinician at the site
- Decisions that affect documentation standards or treatment protocol
- Changes that affect more than the site
Escalate to Clinical Director
- Clinical crises beyond the Site Lead's scope of practice or credential
- Disciplinary matters or performance improvement plans
- Hiring or termination conversations
- Anything requiring licensed clinical supervision authority that the Site Lead does not hold
Level of Supervision
Works under direct supervision and mentorship of the Clinical Director. Especially during the first 60 to 90 days in the role, the Site Lead can expect daily check-ins with the Clinical Director as the supervision rhythm is established.
Expected to develop into a more autonomous operational leader over time, with the Clinical Director continuing to provide clinical supervision and leadership coaching.
Business Contacts
- Internal: Clinical Director, Chief Clinical Officer, other Site Leads at peer locations, clinical staff at the site, Admissions team, Recovery Coaches, Billing / UR personnel, Operations, HR.
- External: Referral partners, hospitals, probation departments, schools, payers, community agencies, families, and other treatment providers as needed for continuity of care at the site level.
Conditions of Employment
- Completion of pre-employment drug screening and random testing upon reasonable suspicion of use.
- Pass an Enhanced Background Check with the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare.
- Completion of orientation and required paperwork prior to reporting to work.
- Completion of CPR / First Aid training within the first 30 days of employment.
- Must be a sober person in recovery for at least 18 months, unless otherwise determined by the Executive Team and CEO.
- Maintains current Idaho credential throughout employment. Completes required continuing education on time.
Mission and Values Alignment
Brick House Recovery is a faith-friendly substance use disorder treatment organization. The Clinical Site Lead is expected to reinforce the cultural values that guide Brick House's clinical practice: connection over compliance, dignity in every interaction, evidence-based care delivered with a personal touch, and clinical excellence in service of long-term recovery outcomes.
The Site Lead does not need to share Brick House's faith orientation, but is expected to operate respectfully within it and to serve clients of all faiths and no faith equally.
