ASRT Respiratory Therapist, PRN - Days

Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as a PRN Respiratory Therapist working day shifts. This role involves delivering comprehensive respiratory care services under physician orders, including oxygen and aerosol therapies, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECGs, and mechanical ventilation for adult and geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide compassionate and timely respiratory care, assessing patient needs and interpreting test results to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Administer various respiratory therapies such as bronchopulmonary drainage, breathing exercises, and therapeutic gas administration.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapy, adjusting treatments as necessary and collaborating closely with interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Manage respiratory equipment, ensuring safety and functionality through regular inspections and testing.
  • Participate in discharge planning by educating patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and recommending assistive devices or follow-up care.
  • Contribute to departmental policy development, training programs, and workflow coordination.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree from a Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited program.
  • Minimum of two years of acute care respiratory therapy experience.
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Current unrestricted respiratory care practitioner license in the state of Washington.
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) upon hire; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) within one year.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within six months of hire.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of respiratory care theories and clinical skills, including equipment operation and safety protocols.
  • Ability to assess and tailor treatments across all age groups, from pediatric to geriatric patients.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare providers, patients, and families.
  • Proficiency with technology, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
  • Capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and demonstrate leadership within the clinical setting.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry varying weights, stand, walk, bend, and perform other physical activities as needed in a clinical environment.
