Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction. Ensure donor and staff confidentiality. Educate donors about potential hazards and provide counseling regarding unacceptable test results. Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events. Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability. Assist in employee training. Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program. Job Requirements Certified/licensed in the state of employment as EMT‑Basic, EMT‑Advanced, Paramedic, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse. Current CPR certification required. Attributes Work is performed both standing and sitting for up to 2‑4 hours per day. Position requires bending and twisting of the neck up 1‑2 hours per day. Frequent hand movement; ability to make fast, simple movements of fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to perform precise coordinated movements of fingers to grasp and manipulate objects. Frequent foot movement; may squat, crouch or sit on heels occasionally; occasionally walks, bends, and twists at waist. Light lifting of up to 15 lbs, with maximum lift of 50 lbs. Color perception/discrimination, near vision and far vision correctable to 20/30 in one eye and 20/100 in the other. Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly; interpret spoken words and sentences. Works independently and follows oral or written instructions. Performs a wide range of tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions. Relates sensitive information to diverse groups; work performed in a plasma center. Exposure to biological fluids with potential infectious organisms. Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment. Exposure to extreme cold below 32°F while operating plasma freezers; personal protective equipment required.
