Peer Support Specialist
PARKVIEW HEALTH SYSTEM INC
Summary Serves as peer support for individuals in recovery from a mental health condition, substance-use disorder, or both and connects them to resources to support recovery. Education High School diploma or GED completion. Licensure and Certification Valid Indiana Driver's license with proof of car insurance. CPR certification within 30 days of hire. Certification of peer support for recovery within six months of employment for the following departments: PBHI Grants requiring certification, Assertive Community Treatment, SAMHSA‑CCBHC, and crisis teams. Experience Preferably have 2 years of experience working in community settings connecting with clients face‑to‑face. Must have shared experiences of those they serve. Other Qualifications Must have reliable transportation and may need to travel during the workday. Demonstrates expertise in the community of residence and is a trusted member of the community. Must be able to engage diverse learners. Demonstrates skills in individual and group teaching, home visiting, advocating and motivational interviewing. Demonstrates a high degree of humility and respect for the cultural diversity within each community. Ability to speak multiple languages is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
