Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift acute care position requiring an active IL RN license and critical care skills such as intubation and central line assistance.

Job Details

• Acute Care ICU unit within a hospital setting,
• 13-week contract, 40 hours/week (8-hour shifts, 5 days/week),
• Night shift schedule from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM,
• Weekend and holiday shifts as needed,
• Floating required as needed,
• Assists with intubation, central line insertion, and arterial line insertion and care,
• Works with ventilated patients to promote early mobility,

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temporary license accepted),
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification through the American Heart Association,
• Minimum of one year of relevant nursing experience,
• ASN required, BSN preferred,
• Epic charting experience required,
• Strong critical thinking and nursing judgment skills for assessing changes in patient condition,

Additional Information

• Provides direct nursing care to ICU patients using established standards and multidisciplinary collaboration,
• Supervises and delegates tasks to nursing assistants and health care technicians,
• Completes patient assessments, develops care plans, and documents care accurately,
• Utilizes hourly rounding, bedside reporting, and patient whiteboards for communication,
• Reports to the Nurse Manager and collaborates with the care team to optimize patient outcomes,
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration,
• RTO not to exceed 7 total days during the 13-week contract,
• Workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year without a required 6-month break in service
