Business Analyst (Criminal Justice Processing System)

Business Analyst – Albany, NY Trigyn’s direct government client has an immediate need for a Business Analyst in Albany, NY. Responsibilities Develop and/or maintain business requirements, test plans, test cases and perform functional and regression testing on applications. Support applications in a help‑desk type environment. Analyze system documentation and artifacts to develop an understanding of associated business processes. Elicit business system requirements using one or more methods: analyze current processes, interview users, conduct group meetings, review or analyze existing documentation or system artifacts. Document and analyze “as is” and “to be” business processes. Develop or maintain high‑level and detailed system requirements in the form of clear business requirements documents, context diagrams, process flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and use cases. Develop or maintain test plans and detailed test cases. Develop or maintain user acceptance testing plans and help‑desk support guides. Develop detailed functional and system tests from documented system requirements and ensure appropriate test coverage by mapping system requirements to test cases. Develop or contribute to the development of regression tests and/or user acceptance tests. Execute functional and system tests, including regression tests, and participate in user acceptance testing. Identify and document application defects and track them to resolution, performing retesting as required. Identify and document deficiencies in system documentation identified during the testing process. Respond to and work through incident tickets submitted by users of business applications. Qualifications Analyze an organization or business domain (real or hypothetical) and document its business processes or systems, assessing the business model or its integration with technology, producing distinct deliverables to a solution. Provide guidance to large teams and/or have extensive industry experience, considered at the top of the field. 84 months of experience eliciting business requirements from business customers or system artifacts and maintaining such requirements. 84 months of experience developing business requirements and process documentation such as use cases, process flows, screen mock‑ups, and data dictionaries. 84 months of experience creating test plans and test cases, executing functional and system tests including regression tests, ensuring appropriate test coverage by mapping system requirements to test cases. 84 months of experience identifying and documenting application defects, tracking defects to resolution, and performing retesting as required. 24 months of experience with systems related to criminal justice processing (including but not limited to: statistical reporting, disposition processing, fingerprint identification processing, criminal history updating, Sex Offender management, tracking of Wanted/Missing persons, or other applications utilized by law enforcement).
