Field Service Technician/Forklift Mechanic

Field Service TechnicianForklifts of Michigan is looking for an experienced Field Service Technician at our Grand Rapids location (7410 Expressway Drive SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49548). If you have wrenching experience and strong mechanical knowledge, either on vehicles or any other equipment, then this position is for you!Monday-Friday | First Shift Hours | Full Time, with opportunity for overtime Compensation rate is based on experience level, starting range is $23-27/hourForklifts of Michigan has a strict drug-free policy and any position with the company would require a pre-employment drug screen, as well as a physical exam, and a background check.About the RoleA Field Service Technician travels locally to customers, using a company van, to complete needed repairs on a variety of material handling equipment, with an emphasis on forklifts. This position would require a valid driver's license in good standing.Qualifications:3+ years mechanical experience (vehicles, tractors, heavy equipment, or similar field)Have good customer relations skills with clear and concise language skillsEnjoy being part of a team, but can work independentlyUtilize technology such as a laptop or tabletHave a valid driver's license in good standingHave a strong mechanical aptitude and abilitiesAbility to lift 50 pounds due to lift and move functionsEssential Functions:Diagnose and repair equipment breakdownsCommunicate effectively any needed repairs with customersComplete work orders in a timely mannerCoordinate with parts and service department dailyKeep work van clean and stocked with necessary suppliesComply with all safety procedures within Morrison's guidelinesConsistently and reliably attend shift ready to work when scheduledPerform any other duties as assignedWe train people that have been working in the industry and who are new to it. Once hired, technicians will automatically be enrolled into our training program.
