Qualifications Required Skills: Current and valid licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Basic Life Support/CPR certification from an approved vendor. One year of direct patient care experience in a hospital setting is preferred. Additional Qualifications/Skills: Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures. Understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency. Competency in the provision of care according to established standards. Application of age‑specific standards, policies and procedures for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. General computer skills: data entry, word processing, email, record management. Leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff. Organizational and time‑management skills. Written and verbal communication skills. Maintaining confidentiality, quality, safety, and infection‑control standards, and working professionally with others. Responsibilities Under the direction of a physical therapist, a Physical Therapist Assistant may implement treatment plans with patients, perform components of physical therapy procedures, record patient responses to treatment, and report outcomes to the physical therapist.
