Paramedic

Overview We are seeking a Paramedic, sometimes referred to as our Emergency Care Technician (ECT), Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) or Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech). The role involves starting IVs, performing EKGs, monitoring vital signs, supporting airway management, and participating in trauma care, CPR, and patient transport. The Paramedic works in close collaboration with nurses and physicians during emergencies and follows hospital protocols and supervision. This position is on a per diem basis (PD/PRN) and is needed as required. Shift’s Available: Variable options. Employment Type: Per Diem (PD / PRN). Hours: Variable. Benefits Competitive compensation Medical insurance benefit plan 401K Responsibilities Perform clinical procedures including IV insertion, EKG acquisition, and continuous vital signs monitoring under supervision. Assist with airway management, oxygen therapy, suctioning, and support during advanced airway procedures and resuscitation efforts. Provide wound care, apply splints, assist with suturing, and respond as part of the team during medical emergencies. Support patient flow by transporting patients to diagnostic areas or inpatient units and assisting with room turnover and preparation. Maintain clinical readiness by stocking essential supplies and performing point-of-care testing as permitted by our hospital policy. Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and EMS personnel to support trauma care, high-acuity patient management, and assist with clinical procedures and transitions of care. Qualifications Current and valid paramedic license issued by the State of Kansas. Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current. ACLS certification within 30 days upon hire and maintain current. PALS and/or ENPC certification required within 30 days upon hire and maintain current. Minimum of one year as a paramedic in an EMS or acute care hospital preferred. Facility Specific Requirements: Non‑OB facilities require NRP certification within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
