Principal Engineer, Product Cybersecurity

Principal Engineer position focused on designing and directing cybersecurity strategies for medical devices at Baxter. Leads cross-functional teams to implement security architectures, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments while ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Own cybersecurity design and analysis of multiple medical device systems from conception to completion
• Create and maintain system requirements, architectures, risk analyses, and threat models for medical devices
• Lead implementation of security principles across product development and cross-functional teams
• Monitor threat intelligence and analyze emerging vulnerabilities affecting medical device systems
• Interface with regulatory bodies to ensure regional cybersecurity compliance and requirements are met

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
• Master's degree with 3+ years industry experience in lieu of bachelor's requirement
• Hands-on expertise in threat modeling, penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, and secure code analysis
• Experience with cybersecurity tools including Blackduck, Coverity, and similar platforms
• Knowledge of threat intelligence, CWEs, CVEs, and standards like UL-2900, ICS-CERT, FIPS 140
• Strong proficiency securing embedded systems and hosted software applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional stakeholder engagement

Compensation: $120,000-$165,000 base annually
