As We Grow Childcare & Preschool, an independent and locally owned child care center with the owner/director on site daily, is seeking Childcare Teachers and Teacher Assistants for its infant-to-3-year-old room. Working as part of a lead teacher and assistant co-teaching team, you will provide nurturing infant and toddler care, support a center-developed curriculum, maintain a safe and healthy classroom, and share daily updates with families. This role reports to the owner/director and offers paid training, workshops, and career advancement pathways.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive care for infants and toddlers.
• Assist with planning short- and long-range activities aligned with the center-developed curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Support developmental assessments and provide input on children’s progress.
• Communicate with families through daily updates about children’s care and development.
• Arrange and maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging classroom environment.
• Monitor children’s safety and follow applicable licensing requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and report suspected abuse to the supervisor.
• Inspect and replace damaged or missing classroom materials.
• Maintain accurate attendance, time sheets, childcare records, and other required documentation.
• Attend staff meetings, in-service training, workshops, and other professional development activities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting.
• Previous experience working with young children.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Passion for child care and making a difference in young children’s lives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in early childhood education.
• One to two years of teaching experience in a licensed child care center.
• Post-high-school training in early childhood education.
• Infant, child, and adult CPR, First Aid, and AED certification; training may be provided.
• Experience with infant and toddler care, curriculum planning, child development assessment, classroom management, childcare recordkeeping, health and safety compliance, parent communication, confidentiality, and child abuse reporting.
• Child Development Associate certification.
