Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive, experienced Superintendent to lead on-site construction operations for ground-up, retail and commercial projects, including tenant improvements. The Superintendent will be responsible for delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to quality and safety standards while coordinating subcontractors, managing day-to-day field activities, and serving as the primary on-site representative for the general contractor and client.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all on-site construction activities for ground-up, retail, commercial and tenant improvement projects.
• Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, craft labor, and vendors to ensure timely progress and quality workmanship.
• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term schedules, monitor critical path activities, and adjust resources to meet milestones.
• Enforce site safety protocols and company safety programs; conduct daily safety briefings and ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations.
• Perform regular quality inspections, review work for compliance with plans and specifications, and resolve non-conformances promptly.
• Maintain daily logs, progress reports, manpower and equipment records, and document field conditions, RFIs and change directives.
• Collaborate with project management, estimators, engineers and clients to review plans, address field issues, and implement solutions to minimize delays and cost impacts.
• Coordinate permitting, inspections, and closeout activities to ensure successful turnover including punch list completion and O&M documentation.
• Mentor and develop field personnel, promote a collaborative culture, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of proven experience as a Construction Superintendent with significant experience on ground-up, retail, commercial and tenant improvement projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, safety regulations (OSHA), and local building codes.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Proficiency with construction management software and tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid) and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent leadership, communication and conflict-resolution skills; able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience managing project budgets, controlling costs, and tracking labor/equipment productivity.
• OSHA 30 certification preferred; CPR/First Aid and other trade-related certifications a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation; flexibility to work extended hours and travel between sites as needed.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
