You will work collaboratively with senior engineers and project teams to deliver high‑quality technical solutions while expanding your expertise in nuclear systems and plant operations. Design Margin Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive engineering studies to evaluate design margins across nuclear plant systems. System Impact Analysis: Assess the implications of increased power levels on plant systems and propose engineering solutions for any identified limitations. Modification Identification & Scoping: Identify essential plant modifications for accommodating enhanced power levels and develop scopes of work. Cross‑Disciplinary Coordination: Collaborate closely with various teams including design engineering, licensing, operations, and maintenance to align on uprate strategy and execution. Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical reports, design change packages, and presentations for internal stakeholders and regulatory entities, keeping accurate records of evaluations. Vendor & Contractor Interface: Assist in liaising with external vendors and contractors for specialized studies and equipment upgrades. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical, Civil, or related discipline) from an ABET accredited university. 3‑10 years of experience in nuclear power design engineering. 1‑2 years of experience specifically related to power uprate design engineering. PE license or progress towards licensure is a plus. Familiarity with large‑scale power generation systems and industry electrical codes and standards such as IEEE, IEC, NEC, and NERC; experience in the nuclear sector preferred. Proficient in analyzing complex engineering topics through technical literature and industry studies. Experience in performing engineering analyses in one or more of the following disciplines: Electrical: Load flow, short circuit, arc flash, equipment protection, sequence of operation, and transient stability. Mechanical: Thermal‑hydraulic evaluations, flow modeling, pump and valve sizing, and stress analysis. Civil/Structural: Structural load assessments, seismic and wind evaluations, foundation design reviews, and modifications for uprate‑related equipment. Compensation Range USD $90,000.00 - USD $110,000.00 /Yr.
