Accounting AssistantOur client is an organization in the Baraboo area looking for an Accounting Assistant. Our client is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented individual who enjoys a mix of accounting, data entry, and customer service responsibilities. This position will support daily accounting operations while interacting with customers and team members in a busy, collaborative environment.The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:Assist with daily accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.Enter and maintain financial information within accounting and business systems.Support the preparation and processing of journal entries and other general accounting transactions.Assist with general ledger and chart of accounts-related activities.Review accounting information for accuracy and research discrepancies as needed.Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.Perform a high volume of data entry while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.Assist with account reconciliations and other routine accounting activities.Support accounting needs across multiple areas of the organization.Respond to incoming phone calls and direct questions or requests to the appropriate team member.Provide professional and friendly service to customers, guests, and internal employees.Balance accounting responsibilities with incoming requests and changing daily priorities.Utilize accounting software and Microsoft Excel to maintain and organize financial information.Assist with special projects and additional accounting or administrative responsibilities as needed.The Accounting Assistant will possess the following:High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred but not required.1–2+ years of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or related accounting experience preferred.Recent accounting graduates with relevant coursework, internships, or other practical experience will also be considered.Exposure to journal entries, general ledger accounting, or chart of accounts concepts is a plus.Comfortable learning and working within accounting, ERP, or other business management systems.Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with PivotTables, lookup functions, or similar Excel tools is a plus.Strong data entry skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with a professional and approachable communication style.Comfortable answering phones and assisting customers or other individuals as part of daily responsibilities.Ability to stay organized and productive while managing interruptions and multiple priorities.Dependable, flexible, and willing to assist wherever needed within a collaborative team environment.Eager to learn and develop broader accounting knowledge and responsibilities over time.Equal Opportunity Employer
