Job Title: Director of Housekeeping
Position Scope: The Director of Housekeeping is responsible for leading all housekeeping and laundry operations at Symphony Park, ensuring that all resident apartments, common areas, and public spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort.
Reports to: Executive Director
FLSA Status: Exempt

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees all housekeeping and laundry operations throughout the Symphony Park community.
- Hires, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates all housekeeping and laundry associates.
- Develops and implements cleaning protocols, schedules, and quality standards for resident apartments and all common areas.
- Conducts regular inspections of resident apartments, public areas, and service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
- Manages housekeeping supply inventory, coordinates procurement, and maintains budget compliance.
- Ensures safe storage, handling, and use of all cleaning chemicals and equipment in compliance with OSHA and community standards.
- Coordinates with the maintenance department on repairs or environmental concerns identified during cleaning rounds.
- Develops and enforces infection control protocols in partnership with nursing and clinical staff.
- Responds promptly to resident requests or concerns regarding housekeeping services.
- Prepares for and participates in state licensing surveys and internal audits.
- Supports the mission, vision, and goals of the organization, upholding and promoting company culture and vision.
- Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information.
- Communicates any observed or suspected resident change in condition to a supervisor immediately.
- Maintains a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests, following established safety standards.
- Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments. Supports a positive and professional image through actions and dress.
- Completes all mandatory compliance, HIPAA and state and federal regulatory training as required.
- Other duties as assigned by your director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory housekeeping experience, preferably in senior living, hospitality, or healthcare.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, proper chemical handling, and infection control best practices.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Experience managing departmental budgets and supply inventories.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Experience working with seniors preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Walk/Stand – must be able to continuously walk and stand.
- Environment Condition – must be able to perform work both inside and outside.
- Sit – sit infrequently.
- Lift - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds.
- Carry - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds.
- Push - constantly 0-10 pounds, frequently 11 – 50 pounds.
- Climb – must be able to climb stairs on a frequent basis, with the opportunity to utilize the elevator as an alternate resource if available.
- Bend – must be able to bend at the waist, knees, hips and spine on a frequent basis, may require frequently manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
- Squat – must be able to squat on a frequent basis to reach below the knee, may require lifting of 50 pounds or less.
- Twist or rotate – must be able to twist or rotate occasionally at the trunk, hips, knees, and neck while, manipulating weights of 25 pounds or more.
- Reach– must be able to reach on a frequent basis. May occasionally reach overhead, requiring manipulation of weight of 10 pounds or less, and below waist manipulating weight of 25 pounds or more.
- Sensory Vision – must be able to read clearly with or without corrective lenses.
- Hear - Must be able to hear telephone, audible alarms, bells and signals related to resident safety with or without hearing devices.
- Speech/Language – must have strong command of English sufficient to read and write and interpret administration information.
