Food Service Dietary Cook/Aide

Cook / Aide Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and dietary requirements
• Ensure meals are served on time and at appropriate temperatures
• Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and work area
• Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed
• Assist with meal preparation, tray setup, and food service
• Deliver meals to residents in the dining room or individual rooms
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dishes, and work areas
• Follow food safety guidelines and infection control procedures
• Support the dietary team with organizing and stocking supplies

Cook/Aide Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a cook, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and food safety regulations
• Ability to follow recipes and prepare food in large quantities
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset
• ServSafe certification (preferred)
• Basic math skills
• Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
• Previous experience in food service or healthcare is a plus, but not required
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team
• Strong attention to cleanliness and safety
• Excellent communication and customer service
