Registered Nurse Labor & DeliveryJob Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Cross trained in postpartum and delivery - Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the assigned unit or department - Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services - Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel Description: The Registered Nurse provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and families. Effectively communicates pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of those solutions. Patient to Nurse Ratio: Labor 1:2 or 1:1; Postpartum 1:3 or 1:4 couplets.
