Environmental Site Superintendent
Anderson Environmental Contracting, LLC (AEC) is seeking an experienced Environmental Site Superintendent to lead field operations within our Environmental Construction Service Line. This is a working superintendent position that combines on-site leadership with hands-on construction activities. The Environmental Site Superintendent is responsible for coordinating crews, equipment, materials, subcontractors, safety requirements, and project documentation while helping ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans and specifications.
Projects are located throughout Oregon and Washington, and regular out-of-area and overnight travel is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and direct field crews performing environmental remediation, demolition, stormwater, infrastructure, and remedial-treatment work.
- Organize daily field activities based on project plans, specifications, schedules, site conditions, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate the daily and weekly allocation of personnel, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and other project resources.
- Partner with the Project Manager to develop work plans, schedules, cost estimates, and project execution strategies.
- Assist with obtaining and evaluating quotes from subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment vendors.
- Coordinate site mobilization, construction activities, material handling, and project closeout.
- Oversee contaminated-soil excavation, segregation, stockpiling, loading, transportation, and disposal activities.
- Supervise demolition, grading, backfilling, compaction, stormwater, piping, infrastructure, and site-restoration work.
- Perform hands-on construction activities when necessary to support production and successful project completion.
- Safely operate heavy equipment and specialized construction tools when qualified and authorized.
- Conduct and document daily tailgate meetings, job safety analyses, inspections, and other required safety activities.
- Maintain accurate and timely daily reports, safety documentation, cost records, equipment records, and other field documentation.
- Monitor labor hours, equipment usage, material quantities, field productivity, and project costs.
- Update project schedules based on actual field conditions and work progress.
- Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable EPA, OSHA, state, local, client, and project-specific requirements.
- Promptly identify and report safety concerns, environmental issues, equipment problems, delays, and changed site conditions.
- Communicate field progress, resource needs, and project challenges to the Project Manager.
- Promote a professional, accountable, and safety-focused work environment.
- Perform other duties and project assignments as needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of construction or environmental construction experience.
- At least two years of construction supervisory or field-leadership experience.
- Experience leading crews and coordinating multiple field activities.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, schedules, and related project documents.
- Working knowledge of environmental construction methods and field procedures.
- Strong understanding of applicable construction safety practices and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment and construction tools safely and competently.
- Ability to maintain accurate project, production, cost, and safety documentation.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced field environment.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Ability and willingness to perform hands-on construction work when necessary.
- Willingness and ability to travel throughout Oregon and Washington, including overnight and extended out-of-area assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising environmental remediation or environmental construction projects.
- Experience with contaminated-soil excavation, demolition, stormwater systems, infrastructure work, and site restoration.
- Experience working in contaminated, environmentally sensitive, or regulated work areas.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, equipment, and project materials.
- Experience tracking project costs, quantities, schedules, and field productivity.
- Experience operating excavators, bulldozers, loaders, compactors, or other heavy equipment.
- Current industry-related licenses, certifications, or training.
Preferred Certifications and Training
Preference may be given to candidates who currently hold one or more of the following:
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification and current 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Outreach training
- Confined Space Entry training
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
- Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead or Supervisor certification
- Excavation and trenching competent-person training
- Current respirator medical clearance and fit testing
- Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Forklift, telehandler, or aerial-lift certification
