Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem

Role Overview Per Diem Respiratory Therapists assess patients' respiratory needs, develop and implement care plans, and perform treatments such as aerosolized medications, oxygen therapy, and airway management. They operate mechanical ventilators, monitor patient status using non-invasive tools, and assist with emergency airway procedures. The role includes patient education, intra-hospital transport, and discharge planning related to respiratory care. Additionally, therapists collaborate with the healthcare team, maintain safety and regulatory standards, and serve as preceptors for students and new staff. They may assume shift coordination responsibilities after one year. Qualifications & Skills Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Respiratory Therapy is required. Candidates should possess strong assessment, communication, and technical skills, with the ability to perform and document treatments accurately and adhere to safety standards. Flexibility to work day, evening, or night shifts and participate in self-scheduling is essential.
