Job Description:

L3Harris is seeking a Sr. Specialist, Configuration Management to join our team. This is a critical engineering support role responsible for leading configuration management (CM) functions to ensure product performance and functional and physical attributes remain aligned with requirements, design intent, and operational information throughout the product lifecycle. The primary objective of this role is to ensure the integrity, traceability, and control of system documentation, drawings, design artifacts, baselines, records, and associated configuration information through disciplined application of established configuration management processes and controls. This position also serves as a key resource to engineering and program leadership teams, providing subject matter expertise, cross-functional coordination, and strategic support as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Lead configuration management activities in support of Agile development programs, including the application, oversight, and continuous improvement of configuration management processes, documentation practices, and control principles.
• Administer, maintain, and enhance configuration management toolsets, and lead support for the Configuration Change Board process to evaluate, document, approve, and implement product design changes.
• Manage and oversee the review, control, release, and traceability of engineering drawings and technical documentation in accordance with program requirements, contractual obligations, and established organizational procedures.
• Provide advanced configuration management guidance to program teams, coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, and lead or support configuration audits to ensure compliance with applicable standards, contractual requirements, and internal processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• Active Top Secret clearance required.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Prior experience in configuration management or related engineering support, including advanced working knowledge of PLM, PDM, or version control tools such as Agile PDM, Teamcenter, Windchill, ClearCase, or similar systems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead configuration management activities, drive coordination across functional teams, and support program execution in a schedule-driven, fast-paced Agile or continuous-change engineering environment, including implementation of process improvement initiatives.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including advanced document formatting, template development, styles, and other document control functions.
• Working knowledge of configuration management standards such as EIA-649C and MIL-STD-973, with the ability to interpret Statements of Work, engineering drawings, schematics, and parts lists; configuration management certifications such as CMPIC or NDIA preferred.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Massachusetts is $88,000 - $164,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
