Pine & Oak Tavern is seeking a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. This position is responsible for preparing high-quality food while working the fry, grill, and sauté stations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, follows recipes and food safety standards, and works well with others to provide an excellent dining experience.

Schedule

• Full-time position with flexible scheduling
• Restaurant hours: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
• Typical shifts include:
  • 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • 3:00 p.m. – Close
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to Pine & Oak Tavern recipes and presentation standards.
• Work assigned fry, grill, or sauté station while maintaining speed, consistency, and quality.
• Prepare ingredients and stock stations before service.
• Maintain proper food temperatures and portion sizes.
• Ensure timely preparation of orders while coordinating with the kitchen team.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Label, rotate, and store food using FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
• Keep workstations clean, organized, and fully stocked throughout each shift.
• Assist with food preparation, inventory, receiving deliveries, and restocking supplies.
• Properly operate grills, fryers, ovens, sauté burners, knives, and other kitchen equipment.
• Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning responsibilities.
• Communicate effectively with managers and team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
• Assist other stations as needed to support overall restaurant operations.

Qualifications

• Previous line cook or restaurant kitchen experience preferred.
• Experience working fry, grill, and/or sauté stations preferred.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy service periods.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Bend, reach, stoop, twist, and perform repetitive movements.
• Work safely around hot surfaces, open flames, sharp knives, and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Tolerate exposure to heat, steam, and a fast-paced kitchen environment.
