Commercial Manager

Our client is a leading multinational engineering services provider and general contractor who specializes in mission critical turnkey solutions. Employing over 750 professionals and deliver leading-edge construction solutions across a range of key sectors including Data Centre’s, Healthcare, Life Sciences and Technology, Fire protection, Building Services, and Technical Support Services. They are currently looking for Commercial Managers to join them on a Data Centre Project in Belgium. Responsibilities Manage all commercial aspects of the project, including cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting, to ensure delivery within budget and in line with contractual obligations. Oversee procurement strategies, working with buyers and project teams to secure subcontractors, materials, and services at best value while maintaining quality and programme requirements. Administer main and subcontractor contracts, including managing variations, claims, payment applications, and change control processes. Monitor and report on project costs, forecasts, and cash flow, ensuring financial risks are identified early and mitigation strategies are in place. Lead commercial negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to protect the company's commercial position and maintain strong working relationships. Support the project team in identifying and managing project risks and opportunities, including value engineering and commercial optimisation strategies. Ensure compliance with corporate governance, contractual frameworks, and regulatory standards, particularly for large-scale or multinational data centre developments. Prepare and present monthly commercial reports to senior management, including cost value reconciliations (CVRs), project valuations, and final account settlements. Qualifications A professional qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management A minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role managing large scale projects. Data Centre experience is not essential but desirable.
