Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room/Medical Surgical Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS (PALS preferred) Must-Have: - Experience in a fast-paced environment - Ability to learn Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Description: This position involves floating between the Emergency Room and Medical Surgical areas. Shifts include three 12-hour shifts per week from 7 PM to 7 AM. Every other weekend is required, with potential for additional weekends as necessary. Nurses will be expected to manage ER patients and assist in the MedSurg unit during slower periods. Candidates should have prior travel experience, specifically two assignments or more. The unit includes a range of patient diagnoses, including cardiac issues and traumatic injuries. Common clinical skills involved include administering critical care drips and managing emergent cases. Nurses will perform various tasks including lab draws and EKGs. Expected nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:3 to 1:4. A charge nurse will be available to assist as needed. There are no standby or call requirements for this position. All necessary equipment and training will be provided for successful candidates. Compliance with dress code, including dark colored scrubs, is expected. Scheduling is managed by the department through a digital platform. Additional duties may include triaging patients if volumes dictate. Overall, a collaborative approach with other staff members is essential for this role.
