Job Summary: Lead Direct Support Professional Behavior Specialist assists clients with all daily living activities, personal cares, and program implementation. Responsible for the daily well‑being and safety of the clients while ensuring adequate supervision. Assist with household maintenance and housekeeping and support various tasks to maintain the home. Schedule: Monday–Thursday 8:00 am–4:00 pm & Friday 8:00 am–3:00 pm. No weekends. Hourly Pay Rate: $19.50 per hour + $1.00 Hour Site Differential. Weekend differential $2.00 per hour for hours between Friday 10 pm and Sunday 10 pm. Overnight differential $1.00 per hour for hours between 10 pm and 6 am. Sleep hours only $12.13 per hour. $1,500 Retention Bonus for full‑time staff & $750 for part‑time staff, paid out over 1 year. Key Duties and Responsibilities Assist clients with daily cares, medical needs, mental health supports, ADLs and overall well‑being. Support a daily routine that includes hygiene, domestic tasks, leisure, grooming, socializing, budgeting, health, study and homework as applicable, and community participation. Plan and implement recreation, leisure and community activities. Drive to/from appointments and community activities in a company vehicle during all hours of operation. Assist individuals in building and maintaining community relationships and friendships. Apply person‑centered services in accordance with the Coordinated Service and Support Plan (CSSP), its addendum and the Abuse Prevention Plan. Maintain knowledge of each person’s history, skills, vulnerabilities, habilitation plans and emergency procedures. Participate in the support team process; aid in developing and implementing goals. Administer prescribed medication, treatments, diets and exams as directed by the CSSP and CSSP‑A. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and MORA policies. Prepare meals following scheduled menus and complete weekly food ordering. Perform daily housekeeping and household maintenance. Complete house quality improvement assessments and address identified issues. Ensure adequate supervision of clients, remaining on shift until a replacement arrives. Work harmoniously with and show respect to all internal and external individuals. Communicate effectively with colleagues verbally and in writing, using the primary spoken language of clients. Complete all mandatory training as determined by MORA or 245D regulations. Read and follow company policies and procedures. Remain awake at all times unless assigned a sleeping shift. Document program data and daily log information accurately and timely. Collaborate with the team to complete other duties as assigned. Additional Essential Job Responsibilities Train new staff on client mental health outcomes, positive support strategies, behavior programming and client‑specific mental health diagnoses. Collaborate with Program Supervisor and Positive Supports Manager on creation and updates to Mental Health Outcomes. Complete training on specific mental health diagnoses for supported clients. Work with Program Coordinator to ensure staff log data on behavioral and mental health programming. Desirable Qualifications Interest and/or experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a mental health capacity. 3–5 years of experience with clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental health needs. 3–5 years of experience in Positive Supports and mental health outcomes. Proven leadership skills. Strong ability to support a team in understanding client mental health needs and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Required Qualifications Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain qualified status. Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General. Must be able to meet company’s physical job demands. If using own vehicle for company business, must hold a current valid driver’s license and required insurance. Successful completion of Medication Administration class with a score of 80% or greater and regular, error‑free medication administration.
