About the team and the role:

Caramel, an eBay company, helps make vehicle transactions faster, simpler, and more trusted. Our platform supports independent dealers and private parties through some of the most complex parts of a vehicle sale, including funding, paperwork, title, motor vehicle department processes, and protected payments. As eBay Motors grows its dealer business, Caramel has an opportunity to reach more independent dealers by working through the organizations, platforms, and industry relationships they already know and trust.

We're looking for a Partnership Lead to build new partnership channels for Caramel/eBay Motors. In this role, you'll identify high-potential partner opportunities across the automotive retail ecosystem, shape the value proposition, structure commercial models, negotiate agreements, and help turn partner interest into activated dealer growth. You'll work across Dealer Services, Dealer Activation, Dealer Sales, Marketing, Product, Risk, Finance, and Operations to make sure partnerships are not only signed, but launched, enabled, measured, and improved over time.

This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys building from an early stage. You'll create structure where the playbook is still evolving, bring practical knowledge of the automotive retail ecosystem, and help turn trusted industry relationships into repeatable business programs. This is a U.S.-based remote role with travel for partner meetings, industry events, dealer conferences, and team collaboration. Travel is typically expected to be approximately 4-6 weeks per quarter, based on business needs.

What you will accomplish:

  • Grow Caramel/eBay Motors' reach with independent dealers through trusted automotive, dealer, and auction ecosystem relationships.

  • Develop partnerships with dealer associations, auctions, technology providers, lenders, F&I providers, agencies, marketplaces, DMS/CRM providers, software platforms, and other industry organizations.

  • Bring partner programs to life from early strategy through outreach, value proposition, agreement, launch, and growth.

  • Connect partner-sourced dealers with the right internal teams across Dealer Services, Dealer Activation, Dealer Sales, Marketing, Product, Risk, Finance, and Operations.

  • Turn partner feedback, field insights, and performance data into stronger targeting, messaging, handoffs, and program results.

  • Develop repeatable partner programs with clear goals, handoffs, and measures of success.

What you will bring:

  • Experience building or expanding partner channels in an environment where the strategy, process, or playbook was still taking shape.

  • Deep familiarity with the automotive dealer and auction ecosystem, including independent dealers, auctions, wholesale and remarketing channels, vehicle marketplaces, F&I, lending, floor plan, DMS/CRM tools, DMV/title workflows, and transaction operations.

  • A track record of growing partnerships or channel programs that supported qualified pipeline, customer acquisition, revenue, transaction volume, inventory growth, GMV, activation, or similar business outcomes.

  • Ability to identify high-potential partner opportunities, build shared value, shape deal terms, and design programs that can move from agreement to launch.

  • Experience working across sales, activation, operations, marketing, product, risk, finance, and customer-facing teams to bring partner programs to market.

  • 7+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, channel partnerships, marketplace growth, automotive partnerships, sales strategy, or a related field.

Additional Details

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$103,600 - $177,800

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an at-will position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
