LSP Transport is hiring a Lead Diesel Mechanic to support our Chickasha, Oklahoma terminal. In this role, you'll combine hands-on diesel repair expertise with shop leadership to help keep our fleet safe, compliant, and road-ready. You'll guide maintenance technicians and third-party repair partners, support preventive maintenance programs, and work closely with the Fleet Maintenance Manager to reduce downtime and maintain high safety standards.

What you'll do

• Lead daily maintenance support for the Chickasha terminal and assigned locations
• Direct and supervise LSP Transport maintenance technicians and third-party repair shops
• Ensure maintenance and non-maintenance work is completed on schedule and according to company procedures
• Inspect completed work and provide coaching or corrective feedback when needed
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain company tractors, trailers, and related equipment
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment and prove trailers
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records
• Train and support technicians and third-party maintenance personnel
• Perform work safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company safety standards
• Assist with additional shop and terminal responsibilities as assigned

• Strong diesel diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair experience
• Leadership ability with a hands-on, team-first approach
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to safety, quality, and timely completion of work
• Comfortable using computers and Windows-based systems

Required skills

• Proficiency with PC and Windows operating systems
• Experience using diagnostic tools such as Cummins Insite, Bendix, Meritor, or equivalent software
• Experience using Paccar ESA, DAVIE4, or similar diagnostic equipment
• Welding experience

Education and experience

• 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience working on tank trailers, van trailers, flatbed trailers, and related parts and systems
• Associate degree in Automotive Technology or a related field or
• High school diploma or equivalent plus 2+ years of direct, hands-on experience as a commercial Class 8 tractor mechanic

Preferred qualifications

• Current CDL with tanker and hazardous materials endorsements

Physical requirements

• Regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear
• Climb steps and ladders as needed
• Work in sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, or prone positions
• Work with hands above head
• Regularly lift and/or move equipment and fittings up to 50 pounds
• Push/pull up to 75 pounds
• Perform safe lifting from floor to knuckle up to 50 pounds and floor to chest up to 50 pounds
• Use hands to handle tools, controls, and equipment with precision and dexterity
• Maintain close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustment

Work environment

• Work is performed in a shop and terminal environment
• Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions
• Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and cold conditions
• Noise level is usually moderate
