Title: Therapist IIIQualifications: Master's Degree, LIMHPStarting Salary: $69,000+Hiring Bonus: $3,000Job Purpose:Provide mental health therapy with children and families to promote optimum mental and emotional health. Therapy assessment, intervention, and support will address the impact of trauma and healthy attachments.Essential Job Duties:Provide individual, family, and group therapy service. Therapy will emphasize treatment of trauma and or attachment related problems.Provide comprehensive clinical assessments for assigned clients.Provide therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and families. Manage caseloads and meet minimum direct service expectations.Serve as a member of a multi-disciplinary treatment team and collaborate with the team to ensure clients and families are receiving good continuity of care.Complete paperwork including progress notes, reports, assessments, service plans and discharge summaries on a timely basis according to agency and licensing standards.Effectively engage clients in treatment plans that result in positive outcomes for clients.Provide supervision for practicum students and clinical supervision for therapists I, therapists II, and other staff as needed.Effectively utilize evidenced-based therapeutic interventions.Collaborate with community partners to meet the needs of children.Complete service and billing documentation on a timely basis according to program standards.Participate in consultation and supervision sessions as required.Collect statistics and implement Continual Quality Improvement procedures.Other Duties:Drive to and from home and school-based appointments.Provide community parties with education on parent/child relationships, trauma/attachment issues, abuse/neglect issues, intervention techniques and other related topics.Complete training necessary for position and for professional growth.Facilitate a team atmosphere by working in partnership with other agency staff and by promoting a positive working environment.Represent the agency and programs in a positive manner to clients, community organizations and the public, in general.Show flexibility with regard to work schedule; evening and weekend work is required.Complete other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.Job Requirements:Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling or related field.A minimum of 2 years therapy experience with children and families (may include therapy internships).Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) required. May consider LMHP with extensive and comprehensive relevant experience.Must be eligible for and maintain credentials to participate in Medicaid and private insurance provider panels.Strong direct service professional skills, including:o Client-centered, strength-based therapy services,o Commitment to empowering others to achieve healthy problem-solving skills,o Demonstration of a belief in a person’s ability to change and grow,o Understanding and maintenance of clear professional boundaries, with sensitivity to the vulnerabilities of those served,o Ability to collaborate with coworkers and other service providers,o Ability to provide excellent customer service to clients, families, co-workers, colleagues, and community stakeholders and,o Commitment to follow the ethics of the profession and comply with all laws, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures that govern therapeutic practice.Required knowledge of:o Family and individual counseling.o The child welfare system; and,o The process of advocating for families and children involved in the child welfare system.Preferred knowledge of evidenced based practices including:o Attachment Theory,o Trauma Theory,o Parent Child Interaction Therapy,o Child-Parent Psychotherapy,o Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Trauma Focused and Alternatives for Families),o Circle of Security, ando Dialectical Behavior Therapy.Understanding of and sensitivity to the varying backgrounds and personal perspectives of others.Ability to speak effectively before groups and testify in court.Ability to analyze and make recommendations regarding individual cases and to apply larger, systemic issues.Ability to make independent decisions and act accordingly, and, when appropriate, to seek the counsel of a supervisor or consultant.Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.Ability to read, analyze and interpret forms, documents, evaluations, and procedure manuals.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to respond to inquiries and complaints from clients and other providers.General mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, computation of ratios, etc.Vehicle Requirements:Own transportation that meets agency vehicle inspection requirements.Physical Requirements:Ability to sit for extended period.Ability to collaborate extensively with clients, including children and families.Ability to type and perform other office skills.Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.Ability to collaborate extensively with clients.Corrected hearing and vision within normal limits.Ability to safely operate a vehicle.Ability to respond to on-call needs.Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.
