Surgical technologists, who may also be called surgical or operating room technicians or scrub techs, prepare the operating room before the surgery takes place. They also prepare patients for their surgery, arrange medical equipment, and assist doctors during surgical procedures.

Cancellation Policy: VUMC may call off or cancel a maximum of 4 shifts per Assignment without payment or penalty. After these 4, AGENCY will bill VUMC and VUMC will pay the Hourly Contracted Rate per hour for the full shift called off or cancelled. $350.00 fee for each clinical professional who is confirmed on a travel or blocked booking assignment and either (i) cancels that assignment within 14 days on or prior to the scheduled start date or (ii) walks off of that assignment for any reason prior to the end date of the assignment. At any time prior to the start-date of an Assignment, VUMC may terminate a Confirmed Order for a Travel HCP without cause by providing written notice to AGENCY. In such instance, neither the Bi-Weekly Minimum Hours Commitment nor the Shift Cancellation Penalty shall apply. If VUMC terminates without cause an initial Assignment of a Travel HCP after the startdate of an initial Assignment but before the last remaining 2 weeks, VUMC shall pay the Shift Cancellation Penalty for the remainder of the initial Assignment. If within the remaining last two weeks, VUMC shall not be required to pay the Shift Cancellation Penalty, even if VUMC has already cancelled 4 or more shifts during the current Assignment; however, VUMC shall reimburse the Travel HCP's Travel Expenses.
