Senior Commercial Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Underwriter to support the underwriting and credit analysis of complex commercial lending relationships. This individual will be responsible for evaluating a broad range of commercial credit opportunities, preparing detailed credit presentations, and partnering with lending teams to structure sound credit solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial credit expertise across multiple lending products, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to assess risk while supporting portfolio growth. Job Requirements Underwrite a wide variety of commercial lending transactions, including Commercial Real Estate (CRE), Commercial & Industrial (C&I), SBA 504 loans, owner-occupied real estate, investment properties, professional lines of credit, commercial lines of credit, and insurance premium finance loans. Prepare comprehensive credit memorandums that include financial statement analysis, tax return analysis, cash flow analysis, collateral evaluation, guarantor review, and risk assessment. Analyze borrower and guarantor financial information to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential credit risks. Evaluate loan structures and provide recommendations regarding terms, pricing, collateral, and repayment sources. Partner with Relationship Managers and lending teams to structure credit facilities that align with the Bank's credit policy and risk appetite. Review credit reports, appraisals, financial statements, tax returns, and supporting loan documentation. Ensure timely completion of underwriting assignments while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality. Monitor compliance with internal credit policies, lending guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Present credit recommendations and risk assessments to management and credit approval authorities as required. Assist with portfolio reviews, annual reviews, renewals, and modifications as needed. Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred. Minimum 10 years of commercial underwriting experience within a bank or financial institution. Extensive experience underwriting both C&I and CRE lending transactions. Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, cash flow analysis, global cash flow, and risk rating methodologies. Experience underwriting SBA 504 loans, owner-occupied real estate, investment properties, and commercial lines of credit. Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, tax return analysis, and loan structuring. Excellent written communication skills with the ability to prepare detailed credit memorandums. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
