Per Diem Registered Nurse

Role Overview: This position involves providing direct nursing care within the Pediatric ICU, working independently across various age groups including Neonates, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, and Geriatrics. The RN serves as a role model to promote a positive work environment and ensure high-quality patient care, adhering to hospital and departmental policies. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, direct patient care and implement individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient/family education. Assist with tests, procedures, and emergency measures, ensuring proper consent and safety protocols. Administer medications, including IV, and document clinical findings accurately. Participate in orientation, assume preceptor roles, and contribute to staff development. Maintain comprehensive medical records and respond to inquiries per policy. Ensure a safe, therapeutic environment and promote patient safety by following policies and proactively identifying risks. Encourage patient participation in their care and adhere to Patient Centered Medical Home standards. Qualifications & Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing program with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Current RN licensure and BLS certification within 30 days. Preferred certifications include PALS, TNCC, or ENPC. Ability to perform heavy physical work and work in environments with biohazards, requiring PPE.
