Work Study Student - Financial Aid - UWCE Office Assistant (Fall 2026)

Work Study StudentThe Work Study Student will support the Office of Financial Aid on the Armstrong Campus beginning Fall 2026. The Work Study Student will support United Way of the Coastal Empire's Human Resources department as an Office Assistant, assisting with daily HR operations while helping to develop and formalize the organization's internship program. This position provides hands-on experience in human resources, employee engagement, recruitment, compliance, and nonprofit program coordination. Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period. Employment is contingent upon funding. Please confirm your Federal Work-Study eligibility with the Office of Financial Aid.Responsibilities include assisting in building and formalizing United Way's Work Study Program, updating and revising internship position descriptions, contributing to updates of the Intern Handbook, developing an Intern Orientation PowerPoint, collaborating with Marketing to create internship program materials, assisting in developing screening tools for intern hiring managers, supporting the coordination of intern onboarding, communications, and placement, providing support for day-to-day HR operations, assisting with onboarding processes, personnel file updates, and document management, maintaining digital HR records, supporting planning and coordination of internal staff activities, managing the Internship Interest Form and communicating with prospective interns, assisting with scheduling, communication, and follow-up for intern applicants, performing general administrative duties, supporting data entry, document preparation, and workflow improvement initiatives, preparing spreadsheets, summaries, and internal reports as needed, and contributing to streamlining administrative processes and maintaining accurate documentation across departments.Required Qualifications include being enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University and being Federal Work eligible. Preferred Qualifications include customer service and/or administrative experience, exceptional attention to detail and organization, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, experience maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information.Proposed Salary is $15.00 per hour.
