Diesel Technician Mechanic

Position Description Ryder is hiring a Mid-Level Diesel Technician in Memphis, Tennessee—providing a stable company for your career with weekly pay and excellent benefits. Compensation & Schedule Hourly Pay: $24.50 per hour Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700 Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 every quarter (four times per year) Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday Hours: Second Shift 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm We provide state‑of‑the‑art diagnostics and tools to all Ryder maintenance repair mechanics who work on heavy‑duty vehicles. To become a Ryder employee you must: Be able to obtain a CDL within six months after hire Pass a Ryder drug test Pass a DOT physical Pass a Ryder road test Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records checks; a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to whom you are assigned. Responsibilities Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties Perform standard vehicle maintenance Perform standard component inspections and repairs Perform preventive maintenance Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer when applicable Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required Replace defective components as instructed Perform facility maintenance duties Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaint once assigned a task Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation availableWork in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT) Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support Ryder is a proud equal‑opportunity employer and drug‑free workplace.
